Our Michigan Tour
Hey we are back in town! We had a great time touring Michigan. A total of over 500 miles of fun! We started at the cabin and the whole family was there. It is hard to believe that we are a total of nine now. It was felt most as we all tried to get comfortable at bed time.
The canoe race was more exciting this year because the defending champs, Corbin and Kolka, were out with injuries. This opened the race to everyone. The winners were the team of Harwood and Limburg. My team pick the Halstead brothers came in second.
We left on Tuesday for Michigan adventure but we first made a stop at the Forks camp ground. It has not changed much except the bathrooms have been improved slightly. Stopping at the campgound brought back a lot of memories. It was nice to see Erin and Vinnie enjoy it as we did and maybe we will take them back to camp for a weekend.
We also visited Lake Michigan and the kids loved it. Both Erin and Vinnie were in the water playing and laughing for hours. Amy said that Erin reminded her of Carrie when they visited the ocean as kids.
The day at Michigan Adventure was fun. The water park made the heat more bearable. Erin went on every big ride and Vinnie got a little more daring, going on some rides he would not go on at Disney. All in all the vacation was fun, it was nice to get away for a whole week and forget about everything.
